Best Pregnancy Apps

Pregnancy can be so many things: beautiful, exciting, stressful, happy, painful, and strange; but there are a few apps that I have used throughout my pregnancy that have really made things easier for me. From keeping track of the baby’s growth to setting up our registry, here are my favorite apps I’ve used while pregnant.

What to Expect

What to Expect has been the most helpful app of my pregnancy hands down. The size and development information the app gives each week is so helpful and I LOVE the emails I get every few days. The topics are always super relevant and the articles well written. Also, I know the way an app looks isn’t everything, but I just love the aesthetics of this app and the way it helps me keep track of baby girl.

Baby Center

So the app itself is a little janky looking, but what I have found most helpful are the discussion boards. It was through one of them that we formed a birth month discussion and made a Facebook group where we could all support each other. That group has been incredibly helpful this entire pregnancy. Being able to share what is going on with women who are all in about the same place of their pregnancy makes us all feel normal. There has been so much good advice and helpful support given. I am very grateful to these women!

Babylist

We used Babylist for our registry and I am SO glad we did. The thing I love the most about it is that you can add things to your registry from any store, even small shops on Etsy. What is great too is that if you add something and it is sold at multiple stores, it will show all those stores and their prices, so those shopping for you can get the best deal and/or buy from where they are most comfortable. We had one small issue where a couple people reserved gifts and never actually bought them, or they bought gifts and never marked them off, but it was very minimal. We were able to exchange the few duplicate gifts we got and the couple that were reserved and not purchased weren’t big items. Overall, everyone said our registry was easy to shop and we are so grateful for the generosity of our family & friends!!

Expectful

I signed up for the trial of Expectful when I was having a really hard day during second trimester. I had a terrible doctor’s appointment at the perinatologist and was crying when I got home (don’t worry, I switched and never went back to that practice). I took the 20 minute walking meditation and felt so, so much better. I thought I would cancel it after the free trial, but I ended up paying the $59.99 annual membership (you can also subscribe for $9.99 a month, but it seemed more prudent to just get the year for half the price) and I am glad I did. There are meditations for every week of pregnancy, as well as specific topics that even include birth, black mamas, and postpartum. My favorite one is actually the walking meditation. I put it on the 20 minute setting and it is just the perfect amount of time.

I hope you find these apps helpful too!

xx,
