An evening at The Berry Farm
With the Delta variant raging and a newborn at home, it is safe to say that we don’t get out much, which is one of the many reasons why last night at The Berry Farm was so magical. I was invited to attend Soft Launch Re-Opening Party on the farm, which has been in Miami since 1965 and recently added some awesome new enhancements to its beautiful property.
Firstly, let’s talk safety. As you guys know, Dane and I are extremely careful when it comes to the pandemic, so we are always apprehensive about going anywhere. Fortunately, The Berry Farm is an open-air, 30 acre facility with lots and lots of room to social distance. All of the staff was wearing masks, so when we did need to get close to them to place an order for food or drink, we were safe. We wore our masks as well except for when we were super far away from others.
When you first enter the property, there is a row of stalls where you can get food and drink. There were smoothies and fruit juices, beer and wine, American eats like hamburgers, and a ton of ice cream based desserts. Across the property there was another area of stalls with delicious BBQ and a second bar that also had margaritas. I had dessert first, with a strawberry and vanilla soft serve that was so good. For dinner, I ate ribs and a pulled pork slider with a margarita. Especially for this this mama who hasn’t had a drink in quite some time, it was amazing!!
The property has these beautiful spaces to hold events. Dane and I talked about how it would be the perfect venue for a wedding, and also how we would love to have a birthday party for Ariadne there one day when she’s old enough. Each space can be rented out and customized to suit any event, and local vendors were there to show how the spaces could be customized. I loved their displays and I wish I could have had my baby shower there!
The farm is also a really great place for families. There are hayrides, a 5-acre corn maze, ropes course, wooden playground, turf field for games, and a kangaroo jumper shade. It would be a great place to take your kiddos to wear them out!
My favorite part of the property was the beautiful sunflower field. Sunflowers have always been my favorite, and to stand in a field of them taller than me was pretty incredible! Throughout the year, the farm has events like a Harvest Festival, Winter Festival, Strawberry Festival and Sunflower Festival. You can even get a season pass to all the events on their website.
Overall, our night at The Berry Farm was a fantastic experience and we will definitely keep it on our list of unique places to visit. We look forward to the future when Ariadne is old enough to enjoy these amazing spaces and experiences that the farm has to offer. Whether you come on a date night like we did, or you bring your kiddos, The Berry Farm has something for everyone.
