Teacher Fashion: 5 Items to Look for at the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale
Lilly Pulitzer is my favorite brand, but I recognize that it’s also expensive on a teacher budget. One of the coolest parts about Lilly Pulitzer are their semi annual sales, called the After Party Sale, usually held in January and late summer (August or September). Although the official date of the sale has not been announced, it’s always good to think ahead! The sale is likely to be in the coming few weeks, whohoo!
1. Kelly Pants: I love Kelly Pants! Lilly currently makes three versions of these skinny ankle pants. The originals, the knit, and the high rise. I would say the originals and high rise are true to size, while I actually have get one size smaller in the knit because they’re very stretchy (read awesome). While I love all Kelly pants, the knit and high rise hold a special place in my heart simply because I find them even more comfortable than the originals. It’s important to note that all Kelly pants have stretch in them and tend to “grow” a bit throughout the day. I always tell people that when you try on Kelly pants, they should almost feel a little too tight. That’s how I know they’re perfect.
2. Kristen Dress: I love a Kristen dress for both work and the weekend. They’re bra friendly and a great length. Throw on a cardigan or a jean jacket and they’re a great work staple.
3. Ophelia Dress: Ophelia’s are probably my all time favorite style of Lilly dress. There is a version with a regular sleeve and one with a flounce sleeve. I personally prefer the regular sleeve because I like to be able to thrown on a cardigan when I get cold. I’d you’ve ever admired the Sophie dress and thought that it was too fitted on the lower half of your body, try an Ophelia. They’re great for pear shapes because they are an easy, a-line fit.
4. Willa Top: Willa tops also come in a regular and flounce sleeve version. I like both equally, but again, I do like being able to wear a cardigan over sometimes and the regular sleeves are better for that. This easy top is great to pair with Kelly pants or jeans for a comfortable and professional outfit.
5. Florin Tank: Florin tanks are super cool because they’re reversible! I have several colors and I love that I can just switch it around and have a completely different top. I also love that they’re bra friendly and super appropriate for teaching. These two colors are worn all the time in my closet.
I hope this helps you plan for the big sale! If you have any questions at all, drop them in the comments here or on Instagram. I am happy to help!
